Many didn’t know what to expect for this year’s “Heroes” Teen Camp. Some felt strange because they had never even seen the NBC TV show that the camp theme was named after. Others felt awkward that this year’s Camp wasn’t at Warm Beach like so it had been so many years before. What happen in the end? Well, this year’s Teen Camp was in a word: Amazing! From the Sports to the classes about Spiritual Heroism down to the food (Yes, even the food) and everything else, this year’s camp was one that will always be remembered by all who were apart of it. Some highlights from this year’s Camp:
- 120 campers stuffed themselves on 2 school busses just to get to Camp Brotherhood
- All Types of Sports such as Basketball, Soccer, and Ultimate Frisbee to name a few were being played everyday
- A small baby calf got loose at Camp Brotherhood
- Inspiring and Convicting classes from the Bible
- Great times of fellowship where teens from other churches were able to get to know one another and build future relationships
- A water fight that left most who were apart of it soaked beyond belief
- Cabin Skits more hilarious than any of today’s TV sitcoms
- A Bonfire Devotional where many teens had the opportunity to share about spiritual decisions they were going to make for their lives
This year’s camp was so great because it gave teens both young and old a chance to hear the call from God for them to become Spiritual Heroes in their own personal lives and in the lives of others. Praise be to God—the Greatest Hero of all—for allowing this year’s Camp to be a Success. And just think, in about 355 more days, we get to do it all over again. Start getting ready now because next year’s Teen Camp will be coming before you know it.
