“The Power of Recovery”2/11/04 For the addict, staying sober and remaining faithful to God go hand in hand. Most important to sobriety is a strong relationship with God. Chemical Recovery is a spiritual aftercare program to help prevent relapse. There are common guidelines that can help people early in recovery build a great relationship with God and ensure their continued sobriety.

As Chemical Recovery participants, we have
been rescued from a life of drug and alcohol addiction
through the power of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. We
are remaining sober not through worldly, self-help methods,
but because of the faith, hope, love, and intense discipling
we experience in the group. Through God’s
grace, we continue to grow spiritually while emotionally maturing. With understanding,
persistence, and patience, members of the Chemical Recovery ministry
help each other stay sober and deal with addiction related
temptations and issues. We have a lot of fun and
are quite candid with one another in our openness. We
also meet to ensure consistent fellowship and Godly accountability. Please
pray that God will continue to strengthen this ministry as
we strive to be faithful to God, and minister to those who
are struggling to overcome addiction.
